You did a good job animating these. The last one, especially, is hilarious. :)

Spirit Guide moves at a snail's pace, offering all of the micro-managing frustration of Lemmings with none of the puzzle-solving fun. All you do is select a formation, then wait a quarter century while your "spirit fragments" very, very slowly move into position. Move ten feet, then repeat. Over. And over. And over. Oh, and you're timed, too. Who thought this would be fun, exactly?

You've clearly got some good skills with animating, although the 3d interlude when whatshisface was escaping the cell was a little jerky (first time using 3DS Max, I guess?) Anyway, I really like the dialog, the premise is interesting, and I think this has a lot of potential.
There are really only two significant problems with this movie, though they are significant:
1) It's sometimes hard to tell what's happening during fight sequences. Try not to have the camera cut so often, and when you do, make sure we can tell what's going on.
2) There isn't enough exposition of the plot. Everything happens very quickly, and I feel like I'm missing some important details (e.g. What function do the corporate demons ostensibly play, in terms of providing security to society? Is the giant centipede thing only rampaging because the Zephyrs provoked it? Does the government actually round up all the demihumans into a concentration camp as they say they will? Why doesn't anyone resist, and if they do, why don't we see it? Why would they announce that ahead of time--is the public generally distrustful of demihumans, and reassured by their internment in concentration camps? What is a demon doing in whathisface's cell? What is Zephyr Squad, and how are they different from other demihumans?) I could go on, but you get the point. The movie just skips around way too much, leaving too many holes in the storyline.
Of course, this is a blessing too, since it means you still have a lot left to work with in upcoming episodes.

Yup, you caught me lol. It is my first time using using 3DS Max, and you brought up very good points. I wanted there to be an element of mystery with the story. However, I still want people to catch what I am revealing without having to get confused and watch twice, so i appreciate the advice and will most definately work on it. Thanks for the detailed review!

You did a great job on this--nice animation, humorous execution, and great job synching everything to the music. I'm glad I could provide the track for this. ;)

For what this is, it's pretty good. I was kind of hoping that this would be like a single player Tactics Core Demo, though, and it would have been, had you made it possible to use more than one unit at any point in the entire game. It takes a lot of the fun out of a game like this not to have multiple units under your command.
I also found the ammo limit annoying, as well as the way the larger vehicle units obscured multiple squares around them, making proper targeting nearly impossible.
If it weren't for these design problems, I could easily forgive the extremely linear, almost non-existent plot, and the nearly total lack of characters. Cool battle engine, though.

Great, just fantastic. I just about died laughing when the blob said, "I'll always be here, in your heart." Awesome double meaning there, very ironic. I love it!

Cute. But really, all that work just for a gay joke? "Oh no, I've been talking about my sexual exploits with a guy I didn't know was gay!" And...so what? I mean, it really isn't all that funny. Unless you're 5, I guess.

I love this Weird Al song, but I'm a little disappointed with the execution of this. The only thing that keeps me from voting this a good score is the fact that you didn't animate to the whole song--you clearly cut out large chunks of it, so I don't even get the enjoyment of listening to the whole song while watching this. And after all, the main point of music videos is that you get to listen to songs you like. I strongly suggest you redo this with the full song.

This is just about the same as every other Blockhead episode I've seen: entertaining, but ultimately devoid of anything really compelling (like, say, plot or character development). There's one moment that really stands out for me here: there's a part where you get to see Blockhead from everyone else's perspective, walking around, yelling at himself. He's clearly suffering from some kind of multiple personality disorder. I can't quite explain why, but this makes sense of him for me, and makes him much more sympathetic as a character.
I'm sure you won't do this, since it would probably make the series too sophisticated for the average mental defect who peruses this site, but I'd like to see more instances where people interact with Blockhead in roles other than as his confused victim. For example: why not have a story arc where he's finally arrested (after all, it can't be that hard to track down someone who looks like a walking emoticon), tried, and put in a mental facility. At any rate, I'd like to see something slightly different occur after 10 episodes.

It's just a tween of a guy, um, talking I guess. No sound, no color, and not even a complete stick figure. I'm sure you can guess how many stars I'm giving this.
Author's Response:
10? Also there wasn't a teen in here you dunce.
