Nice job!

I liked this! It provided some good, basic backstory, and I felt the animation style was much improved from earlier episodes. Character movement was more fliud, and it was much easier to tell what was going on. However, it definitely left unanswered a few of my questions from the earlier episodes, which I can only assume will be addressed in future installments.

JazLyte responds:

I hope you don't mean DevilSlayer, because I'm not touching that story anymore hehe.... I didn't even know what was going on myself, there was no plot direction, and I was just throwing a bunch of stuff together so that I could make a cartoon. But if you mean the Nightgun pilot episode, yeah other story elements will be summed up. But some cliches will be dropped, just to warn you.

On the right track

You've clearly got some good skills with animating, although the 3d interlude when whatshisface was escaping the cell was a little jerky (first time using 3DS Max, I guess?) Anyway, I really like the dialog, the premise is interesting, and I think this has a lot of potential.

There are really only two significant problems with this movie, though they are significant:
1) It's sometimes hard to tell what's happening during fight sequences. Try not to have the camera cut so often, and when you do, make sure we can tell what's going on.
2) There isn't enough exposition of the plot. Everything happens very quickly, and I feel like I'm missing some important details (e.g. What function do the corporate demons ostensibly play, in terms of providing security to society? Is the giant centipede thing only rampaging because the Zephyrs provoked it? Does the government actually round up all the demihumans into a concentration camp as they say they will? Why doesn't anyone resist, and if they do, why don't we see it? Why would they announce that ahead of time--is the public generally distrustful of demihumans, and reassured by their internment in concentration camps? What is a demon doing in whathisface's cell? What is Zephyr Squad, and how are they different from other demihumans?) I could go on, but you get the point. The movie just skips around way too much, leaving too many holes in the storyline.

Of course, this is a blessing too, since it means you still have a lot left to work with in upcoming episodes.

JazLyte responds:

Yup, you caught me lol. It is my first time using using 3DS Max, and you brought up very good points. I wanted there to be an element of mystery with the story. However, I still want people to catch what I am revealing without having to get confused and watch twice, so i appreciate the advice and will most definately work on it. Thanks for the detailed review!

There is nothing here

It's just a tween of a guy, um, talking I guess. No sound, no color, and not even a complete stick figure. I'm sure you can guess how many stars I'm giving this.

TNOAT responds:

10? Also there wasn't a teen in here you dunce.

Could use some more...stuff.

This flash appears to be a short looped tween set to music. The closest thing this movie has to a character is the sun, who does nothing except sit there while his rays rotate around him. Aside from this and a bunch of lollipops "dancing," nothign happens at all in this movie. The only thing dynamic about the flash is the music, but unfortunately you're using a poor quality mp3--I can hear audio artifacts periodically which reduce the enjoyability of listening to the song.

Here is what you can do to improve this flash:
--find a better version of that song to use
--try using multiple different colors at once
--make something happen during the course of the movie

Do that, and you're sure to get better ratings!

Absurd-Ditties responds:

Are you really so stupid that you assume I'm trying to get a good score with this flash?

Not bad!

I'm impressed--this has to be the first Clock Crew movie I've seen since Lord of the Clocks with an actual, honest-to-god plot of some kind. It's pretty well-animated, too. Nice work!

Eternal-Panda responds:

Not only a plot, but an ORIGINAL plot.
(take that Strange Clock, face.)

Thanks much =D

That was awful

I'm sorry. Words escape me. I found that nauseating on many levels. Awful animation, lousy storyline that alternates between pointless, inexplicable, and totally predictable, and really obnoxious music. Oh, and it wasn't funny either.

Jonimator responds:

Ouch. I see why you call yourself the destroyer.

Resubmit

I had to right-click to make it play. Fix that and resubmit and I'll give you a decent score. :-)

stickboybob responds:

sorry, i think its fixed now.
try it again.
:-P

Political propaganda has no place on Newgrounds...

1. There is no animation or original drawing in this entire film. It is just still pictures and tweens.

2. You misspelled "unprecedented."

3. This is transparently nothing more than a small-minded political propaganda piece. You should be ashamed of yourself for submitting this garbage to a site that hosts genuine artistic work. I can't blam this enough.

J-Goff responds:

I expressed my beliefs in an artistic format for I felt photographs spoke more eliquently than stupid little flash drawings could... this is not a political ANYthing... if you see it that way it is YOUR fault... please take the keyboard and strike yourself in the eye until you bleed.

A lame music video

This appears to be an attempt at creating a music video using characters deliberately styled after Sonic characters. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there is no plot whatsoever to this movie--mostly it's just a bunch of shots of not-very-well-drawn anthropomorphic animals. And while the camera is frequently moving, the characters do not--they simply pose, stock still, trying to look cool. This may well appeal to hormonal pre-teens, but not to me.

rafasonic responds:

Sonic characters rules! xD And thanks for the vote.

Unimaginative, poorly animated.

It is clear that not much thought went into this piece. It's a knock-off of animator vs. animation, only without the cleverness. And it certainly doesn't help that the animation itself is so stiff.

bobsmovie responds:

Yea soz about that... i just wanted to see if i could animate. It turns out i cant lol. Thanks for the 1 my friendly respectable citizen you!
